Razer DeathAdder Elite
An excellent mouse I don't regret buying.
Specs
- Wired mouse
- Up to 16000 DPI with an resolution accuracy of 99.4%
- 1000Hz Polling rate (which is pretty much standard with Razer mice since I know them)
- Chroma lighting with 16.8 Million colors.
...Razer lists a lot more but do we really care?
Ergonomics and build quality
I'd call my hand-size medium and the mouse fits perfectly in my right hand - left handers unfortunately will only find an older version which is basically a completely different mouse. The buttons are easily reachable and the overall feeling is great. The mouse is pretty light and completely made from plastic but it doesn't feel cheap, though. The rubber sides are textured and give you complete control. The wire is corded and long enough to reach behind your PC - so no worries there.
Setup
I've set up the mouse in Windows 10 and Gentoo Linux. I was a bit surprised that there seems to be no onboard memory with the later mouse models so on every PC you will have to install the Razer Synapse 3 to configure your mouse if you aren't happy with the default settings. On Gentoo Linux I am using RazerGenie which you can get from the "nest" overlay - Gentoo folks will know what I am talking about.
I reduced my profiles to a single one as I always want to keep my DPI and color settings which works fine but if you connect your mouse to a different PC your settings are not carried with the mouse but stored in the cloud. On Linux with RazerGenie it is pretty much the same but I haven't found where the settings are stored yet - they definitely are not in the cloud, though.
Conclusion
An excellent mouse worth your money. The only bitter point is that the settings are not stored within the mouse and you need special software to have it configured correctly. I also wish there was a left-handed version for my lefty-friends.
